We are Hartlepool Stage Society

Founded in 1953 originally as the Hartlepool Gilbert and Sullivan Society, our amateur dramatic society has been entertaining audiences in the North East of England for over 60 years.

Over the years the society began expanding it’s musical repertoire beyond G&S productions and the decision was taken in 1993 to rename ourselves the Hartlepool Stage Society.

Preforming musical theatre has always been at the heart of the society from our very earliest production of Mikado on the 26 April 1954 to our most recent productions such as All the Fun of The Fair (2016) and the Juniors production of Seussical the Musical (2016).

Whether preforming musical concerts or a full blown production our little society prides itself on producing quality entertainment to the local community with local talent while having a lot of fun in the process.

We are affiliated to NODA, the national operatic and dramatic association.
